C. albicans SC5314 (upper panel) or S. cerevisiae BY4743 (lower) were cultured in unsupplemented Sabouraud's medium (Inline graphic) or medium supplemented with 1 mM serotonin (Inline graphic), or 1 mM serotonin + 1 mM QN (Inline graphic). (This concentration of QN has no inhibitory effect on yeast growth when supplied alone5). Points are means from three independent experiments. SEMs were smaller than the dimensions of the symbols.
