Stereo view of the water structure in the active site of NeHAO. From the central, water-filled cavity (gray surface), two water channels protrude toward the active site (paths 1 and 2). Path 1 could relay protons from the active site to the central cavity when the conserved histidine is in the conformation observed in the hydroxylamine soak. In the conformation observed in the kustc1061-hydrazine soak, path 2 could be used.
