WT, Atg3−/− and Atg5−/− MEFs were either treated overnight with 200 U/ml of IFNγ or remained untreated. Cells were then infected with C. trachomatis for 24 h and total DNA was harvested for each biological sample. Chlamydial DNA was quantified by qPCR as described in Methods and Materials. Data are representative of three independent experiments. Statistical significance of group values between untreated and IFNγ-treated cells is shown (**, p<0.005; n. s. – not significant).
