A single FS burst at 50 Hz evokes GABAA- and GABAB-receptor-activated currents. A, Sample traces of FS neuron firing and postsynaptic GABAA (blue) and GABAB (red) currents. FS action potentials were elicited with 10–5 ms suprathreshold depolarizing steps delivered at 50 Hz. Bath application of bicuculline allowed the isolation of the GABAB current. Coapplication of bicuculline and CGP52432 abolished both GABAA-and GABAB-mediated currents (black). B, Average amplitude of GABAA and GABAB receptor mediated currents.
