ICR mice were characterized as early deceased (ED), late deceased (LD) or surviving (S) depending on parasitemia rates and outcomes after primary infection with 2×10⁷ PyL iRBCs. S mice were reinfected on days 60 and 420 pi. Blood was extracted at the indicated time-points during infection for the different tests using age-matched uninfected mice as controls. The sera of S and LD mice were passively transferred to naïve BALB/c mice.
