Induction of AVD followed by persistent shrinkage (top), activation of caspase-3 (middle) and induction of cell death (bottom) by treatment with anti-Fas antibody (anti-Fas), as well as their prevention by simultaneous treatment with a Cl− channel blocker (0.5 mM NPPB or 0.5 mM SITS) in SKW6.4 cells. The mean data for cell volume and viability obtained in anti-Fas antibody-treated cells were normalized to those measured in non-treated cells (control).
