The lag phase, LP viability, and expression level of SSU1 gene are shown in panel A, B and C, respectively. Data were obtained from alcoholic fermentation using the strains F10, GN and SB carrying the chromosome forms VIII-t-XVI, XV-t-XVI and nt-XVI, respectively. For each strain, fermentations were carried out in synthetic media containing increasing concentrations of total SO2 (0, 20 and 40 mg), graphically represented by orange scale 0 mg = light orange, 20 mg = orange, 40 mg = dark orange. For panel A and B, bar plots represent the mean with standard error of three independent repetitions. For panel C the expression level of SSU1 was normalized by ACT1. Data represent the mean and standard error of 6 to 9 samples collected during the lag phase.
