(A) Each panel represents the periphery of a mixed colony. (B) Higher magnification (× 400) revealed significantly reduced levels of filamentation from a mixture containing MATα cir1Δ. (C) The mixture containing independently generated MATα cir1 mutants (46 and 57) and MAT a cir1 mutants (37) displayed a lack of filamentation at the colony periphery.
