It was assumed that changes in Gαolf generate proportional variations in the amount of functional Golf heteromer. A) Representation of the two D1R/Golf signaling compartments, one signaling the AC5 axis and the other the NMDAR axis. Panels B and C show the distribution of D1R and Golf in the AC5 (black) and NMDAR (red) compartments, respectively, as a function of its dosage. At haploinsufficient levels (dotted line) D1R has near wild type level in the AC5 compartment (black line), while Golf is almost unaffected in the NMDAR compartment (red line). However, D1R in the NMDAR and Golf in the AC5 compartments are severely affected. This distribution is independent of the crosstalking scheme.
