Effects of hypoxia on the adiponectin- and IL-1β-stimulated production of IL-6 and IL-8 in (a) endothelial cells and (b) osteoblasts. The cells were treated with adiponectin and/or IL-1β under hypoxic conditions for 24 h. The culture supernatants were analyzed for IL-6 and IL-8 by ELISA. The data shown are representative of three independent experiments and similar results were obtained from all three.
