SDS-PAGE and immunoblot analysis of LPS from P. aeruginosa. (A) LPS samples were extracted from biomass obtained by scraping cells off LB agar that had been incubated at 37°C overnight. Samples were treated with proteinase K (4) and separated by SDS-PAGE using a Tris-Tricine running buffer system (5). (B) LPS samples were transferred to a PVDF membrane and probed with mouse primary antibody specific for the O5 O-antigen serotype (B-band). Blots were visualized by using an antibody-alkaline phosphatase conjugate.
