Morbidity and mortality of mice following infection with control and mutant viruses. (A and B) BALB/c mice were inoculated i.n. with 104 PFU (A) or 105 PFU (B) of vD10stop, vD10mu, or vD10rev or with PBS containing 0.05% BSA as a control. The weights of the mice were measured and recorded daily. The daily weights collected from two independent experiments (n = 5 in each experiment) were combined and plotted against the percentage of the original weights prior to inoculation.
