Py17XNL fosters expansion of Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) in DR0401.EA0 mice. Groups of naive (noninfected) mice, infected mice at day 10 or 16 after challenge with 200 infectious Py17XNL sporozoites, infected mice treated with chloroquine (CQ) (as in Fig. 2A) at day 20 after chloroquine treatment, or naive mice treated with chloroquine at day 12 posttreatment were examined for the frequency of splenic Tregs (CD3+ CD4+ Foxp3+) by FACS analysis. The top panel shows Treg frequency, and the bottom panel shows total Treg numbers per spleen.
