Metal-induced FRET ratio changes. Concentration-dependent increases in FRET ratio (527 nm/485 nm) were observed with various concentrations of Cd2+ (A), Pb2+ (B), Zn2+ (C), and Mg2+ (D). FRET measurements with different protein preparations had identical FRET changes for the metals indicated.
