(a) The solution treated TNTZ-1.2O strain glass shows normal (positive) thermal expansion upon cooling from the initial temperature of 283 K to 150 K. However, the cold rolled TNTZ-1.2O sample shows negative thermal expansion upon cooling from 283 K to 150 K. When the cold rolled sample was heated to 573 K and then cooled down; it shows an Invar effect from 283 K to 150 K. (b) The cold rolled TNTZ-1.2O strain glass shows negative thermal expansion along rolling direction (RD) but positive thermal expansion along transverse direction (TD) upon cooling.
