Monocyte activation test was performed using 5 µl of fresh blood stimulated with the indicated, equimolar protein amounts for 24 h. Supernatants were analysed for IL-1ß and IL-6 cytokine secretion by ELISA. Results are mean values ± SD for four different donors.
