Effect of HDL subfractions on cholesterol efflux. RAW 264.7 cells were labeled with 10 μg 22-NBD-cholesterol, equilibrated with 0.2% bovine serum albumin, and incubated with each HDL subfraction, H1 through H5 (20 μg each). Fluorescence was detected in an aliquot of medium. Values shown are the mean ± SD. Each sample was measured in triplicate, and the cholesterol efflux ability of each subfraction was compared to that of H1 by using a Student t-test. *P<0.01 (n=4).
