Immunocytochemical analysis of UCMSC differentiated according to Matsuura et al. using oxytocin (70). Cardiac differentiated UCMSC express the contractile proteins cardiac actin (a), sarcomeric actin (b), cardiac troponin T (c), cardiac actinin (d), sarcomeric actinin (e), myosin heavy chain (f) as well as the gap junctional protein connexin 43 (g) (a-g; all in green fluorescence) for electrical cell-to-cell coupling.
