Irradiated Rag1−/− mice were injected with (A) WT (n = 3) or IL-7Rα449F/449F (n = 3) bone marrow alone or (B) a 9∶1 mixture of WT (n = 3) or IL-7Rα449F/449F (n = 4) to B6.SJL bone marrow or and left for eight weeks to reconstitute. The proportion of CD45.1+ (BoyJ) and CD45.2+ (either WT or IL-7Rα449F/449F) B220+CD21+ cells are shown, with the FO (CD21+CD23+) and MZ (CD21hiCD23lo) populations. The MZ/FO ratio is then shown (C) from the CD45.1+ and CD45.2+ populations. Experiments were repeated with at least three separate sets of chimeras, with similar results.
