Complement induces perinuclear accumulation of GEF-H1 and alters the microtubule structure in GEC. A, GEC transfected with wild-type GEF-H1 (GFP-GEF-H1) pretreated with vehicle, nocodazole (10 μm), or taxol (10 μm) were stimulated with complement for 30 min. Cells were fixed, permeabilized, and stained for α-tubulin. B, the fluorescence intensity ratio of the perinuclear region over the cell periphery was quantified as described under “Experimental Procedures.” Complement (NS) induced perinuclear accumulation of GEF-H1, and this was not inhibited by nocodazole or taxol. **, p < 0.01 versus respective HIS, n ≥ 30 cells.
