CLSM analysis of Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilms grown on Au and AuNP surfaces for 2 (A), 24 (B), and 48 (C) hours under static incubation in Roswell Park Memorial Institute medium. The total biomass, the maximum thickness of the biofilm, and the area occupied at the surface by live and dead cells were analyzed using COMSTAT2 software.
