On the left side, representative sections of an osteoclast (A, tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase stain) and osteoblasts are shown (B, alkaline phosphatase stain) as they were counted for the whole former defect area. The graph on the right side shows the mean osteoblast to osteoclast ratios and 95% confidence intervals for each group. A comparison of all groups showed statistically significant differences (p<0.0001, one-way ANOVA). Post hoc testing showed no significant intergroup differences.
