Molecular marker expression in primary projection clusters. Anatomical terminology according to Younossi-Hartenstein et al. (Younossi-Hartenstein et al., 2006). Clusters include DAM (dorsal anterior medial) and BA (basal anterior) of the deuterocerebrum; DAL (dorsal anterior lateral), DPM (dorsal posterior medial), DPL (dorsal posterior lateral), DPLc (dorsal posterior lateral central), CP (central posterior), CM (central medial), BLA (basal lateral anterior), BLD (basal lateral dorsal), BLP (basal lateral posterior), MB (mushroom body). The clusters D/T, P1, P2, P3, P4, P5 and the optic lobe primordium (grey) also express Fas II.
