Time course of V₂O₅-induced lung histology in B6 and D2 mice. V₂O₅ -induced mild inflammatory foci and alveolar septal thickening, which completely resolved by 56 d in B6 mice. In D2 mice, V₂O₅ induced early lung injury with alveolar hemorrhage and edema followed by inflammation, septal thickening, and interstitial fibrosis, as well as epithelial type II metaplasia.
