Generation was dummy coded as first and second generations=1 such that third generation adolescents served as the reference group; Gender was coded females=1 males=0; SES=socioeconomic status, which was computed as the standardized mean of mother and father’s education and occupation; single/dual parent household was coded as single=1 dual=0; age was entered in months.
