Mice from four experimental groups were fed a chow diet. Bile samples were collected for 1 h. Biliary cholesterol, phospholipids, and bile acids were analyzed (see Materials and Methods). Flow rate is expressed as μl/min/g liver weight. Biliary lipid secretion is expressed as nmol/min/g liver weight. The difference between values associated with different superscript letters for the parameters indicated in each vertical column is statistically significant (P < 0.05).
