For phenotypic analysis of GsPPCK3-SCMRP transgenic alfalfa, the 4-week-old plants were treated with 1/8 Hoagland nutrient solution containing either 0, or 100, or 150 mM NaHCO3 every 3 days for a total of 15 days.
