(A) TEM image of RuBpy-doped silica NPs. The size of NPs was 50±3 nm in diameter. (B) The NPs induced penetration into MH-S cells. 0.2 mg/mL RuBpy-doped NPs were used to treat the MH-S cells (arrow indicating significant penetration). Objective: 63X; excitation wavelength: 453 nm; and the emission filter: 580 nm long wavelength pass filter. The sample was placed in a chamber slide in a bath at 37°C. The data are representative of three experiments.
