Direct ezrin binding to NHE3 is Akt-dependent. A, NHE3 double mutant R520F,R527F (called NHE3-F1D) abolished the Akti effect on NHE3 activity in PS120 cells. The results are means ± S.E. of three separate studies. B, pulldown assays showed that ezrin co-immunoprecipitated with NHE3, and this was eliminated by Akti pretreatment in PS120 cells.
