Loss of PTP4A3 reduced VEGF-mediated vascular permeability. Adult male mice (n = 6–8 per genotype) were injected intravenously with Evans blue dye and 20 min later injected intradermally with 400 ng of recombinant murine VEGF (gray bars) or PBS (black bars) in the flank. Total dye in a 5-mm biopsy punch was extracted, and dye absorbance was determined with a spectrophotometer. Ptp4a3-null mice exhibited significantly reduced vascular permeability in response to EGF relative to wild type mice (*, p < 0.01). Error bars, S.E.
