Notes: Figure 5 presents wave-to-wave changes (in 2008 dollars) in median net financial assets for the original AHEAD cohort between 1995 and 2008, organized by family status—married in adjacent waves of the survey (continuing two-person households), single in adjacent waves (continuing one-person households), and widowed or divorced in adjacent waves. The original AHEAD cohort was age 70+ in 1993.
