Table 1.
TIC frequencies of cells from primary prostate cancer patients in zebrafish xenografts.
1ry prostate | Gleason | R2 | 99% confidence | TIC frequency |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 3 + 3 | 0.999 | 1/7 to 1/37 | 1/16 |
2 | 3 + 3 | 0.995 | 1/29 to 1/153 | 1/71 |
3 | 3 + 3 | 0.995 | 1/64 to 1/228 | 1/120 |
4 | 3 + 3 | 0.999 | 1/59 to 1/456 | 1/185 |
5 | 3 + 3 | 0.995 | 1/32 to 1/114 | 1/36 |
6 | 3 + 4 | 0.998 | 1/29 to 1/153 | 1/71 |
Table shows patient number and Gleason scores. TIC frequencies of 1/16 (6.25%), 1/71 (1.4%), 1/120 (0.83%), 1/185 (0.54%), 1/36 (2.7%), 1/71 (1.4%), 1/8 (12.5%), 1/16 (6.25%), and a frequency range of 0.22% to 25.0% were calculated in the six patient samples using ELDA with 99% confidence interval, and with the displayed correlation coefficient (R2) values. Fifty embryos per dilution per tumor sample were transplanted SC with limiting dilution (3–100 cells) of TICs from the 5-min adherent α2β1hi/CD44hi cells. Tumor cell graft take was consistently high, and averaged 77 ± 10%, and embryo survival next day after transplantation was >86%.
