Reduced OPCs in Shp2 cKOs are observed at late embryonic stages. Olig2 expression in OPCs at E18.5 is reduced in the Shp2 cKO (Shp2^loxP/loxP;Olig2^cre/+) in the medial CC (B) and VF regions (D, red asterisk) compared with controls (Shp2^loxP/+;Olig2^cre/+) (compare CC in B with A and red asterisk in D with C).
