Thrombin binding curves to wild-type γ′ peptide (red) and analog peptides #10 and #11 (blue and green, respectively). The data show that neither peptide #10 with the central three charged-to-uncharged amino acid changes pTyr418Tyr, Asp419Asn, and pTyr422Tyr, nor peptide #11 with flanking charged-to-uncharged amino acid changes Glu411Gln, Glu415Gln, Glu417Gln, Glu424Gln, Asp425Asn, and Asp426Asn, displayed measurable binding.
