Validation of microarray gene expression data by qRT-PCR. Bar graph shows mRNA levels of CST3, GABRA5, and BECN1 measured by real-time PCR in young and old WT mice and 3xTg-AD mice as well as in old WT mice and 3xTg-AD mice. Data are expressed as mean values of relative fold changes±S.D. of three independent experiments performed in triplicate. The symbol ‘*' indicates that CST3, GABRA5, and BECN1 are significantly upregulated when compared with gene expression in 3 m.o. WT mice (P<0.05). The symbol ‘#' indicates that CST3, GABRA5, and BECN1 are significantly upregulated when compared with expression of these genes in 12 m.o. WT mice (P<0.01)
