Chronic ethanol intake increases poly-ubiquitinated proteins in the cortices of WT mice, but not in TLR4-KO mice. The immunoblot (a) and immunohistochemistry (b) analyses and the quantification of the expression of poly-ubiquitinated proteins in the cortical extracts or brain cortical sections of the WT and TLR4-KO mice treated or not with ethanol for 4 months. Data represent mean±S.E.M., n=7 mice/group. *P<0.05 compared with the ethanol-treated WT or TLR4-KO mice with their respective untreated control groups, according to an unpaired Student's t-test.
