Yeast cell-dilution bioassay showing sensitivity of S. cerevisiae slt2Δ and bck1Δ mutants to caffeine (5 mM; control) and OG (0.03 mM) was remediated by sorbitol. Similar remediation by sorbitol was found from treatment with higher concentration (0.04, 0.05, 0.06 mM) of OG (results not shown).
