The auditory nerve model. The medial olivocochlear reflex (MOCR) was simulated by adjusting the model parameter C OHC on a per sample basis to reduce outer hair cell (OHC) gain [C OHC(t)]. The amount of gain reduction at each sample is based on the level of the LP output of the OHC block [OHCLP(t)] of the model entering the pathway outlined in the EFFERENT block. The block labeled “Contra Efferent Path LD” indicates the corresponding level-dependence (LD) block in a second complete instance of the model corresponding to the contralateral ear.
