Significantly different expression of mutants from the wt rpoS-lacZ fusion is marked as * (p < 0.05) or ** (p < 0.01). (B) Hfq binding to wt and mutated rpoS301 RNAs was measured as in Figure 3 and fit to eq. 2 as shown in Fig. S3.
