Experimental results: excitation profiles corresponding to the four RF pulse designs as illustrated in Figure 3A. These images were obtained by dividing out the root of sum of squares of the eight receive B1 profiles from the images shown in Figure 3A. Note the increased uniformity of signal intensity in the liver over the area corresponding to the ROI shown in Figure 3B.
