TNBS, except in the control group, was intrarectally administered to mice treated with saline, PGG or mesalazine. Test compounds [Cpd; PGG (5 or 10 mg·kg−1), mesalazine (MS; 10 mg·kg−1), or saline] were orally administered for 3 days after TNBS treatment. The mice were killed at 20 h after the final administration of PGG or mesalazine.
