In the substantia nigra there was a trend for treatment group to change DAT protein (F = 2.52, df  =  (4,41), p = 0.056). Representative immunoblots of a subset of substantia nigra samples show DAT (50 kDa) and β-actin (43 kDa). A priori, planned comparisons, based on mRNA data, revealed that testosterone replacement increased DAT protein compared to the gonadectomised group. * p<0.05, n = 9–10/group.
