Eighteen pmol of ToxA, VapA and the positive control RNase A were incubated at 37°C for one hour with 5 pmol of RNaseAlert substrate. The fluorescence of the negative control (buffer alone) was subtracted from each value. (n = 3, RFU  =  relative fluorescence units).
