Changes of body weights, 24 hours urine albumin, and ACR in experimental rats on the basis of the duration of diabetes mellitus. (a) The body weights of OLETF and taurine-treated groups were decreased compared to LETO after 35 weeks of age. (b) Urine albumin levels were significantly lower at 35 weeks of age in the taurine-treated diabetic group compared to the diabetic control group. (c) 24 hours urine ACR significantly decreased in the taurine-treated diabetic group compared to the diabetic control group.
