Regulation of angiotensinogen (AGT) and endothelin-1 (EDN1) mRNA expression during diabetes in the absence and presence of miR-133a overexpression. Hearts of the animals from the four groups (ntg, ntg/D, miR-133a and miR-133a/D) were isolated and mRNA expression for AGT (A) and EDN1 (B) for these groups was analysed by real-time PCR. Diabetes-induced up-regulation of these transcripts was prevented in the miR-133a animals.
