The strong inhibition of alamarBlue reduction by kanamycin, as shown in panel A, is due to its high concentration (50 µg/ml). The experiment was performed in a microtiter plate, and fluorescence was measured every 10 min with an excitation wavelength of 544 nm and an emission wavelength of 590 nm.
