IKKε was translocated into IBs through interaction of TBK1 and NSs. HeLa cells were transfected with plasmids expressing Flag-IKKε alone (A), Flag-IKKε and Flag-TBK1 (B), Flag-IKKε and EGFP-NSs (C), Flag-TBK1 and EGFP-NSs (D), or Flag-IKKε, Flag-TBK1, and EGFP-NSs (E). Twenty-four hours posttransfection, the cells were fixed and stained with anti-IKKε (rabbit origin) and anti-TBK1 (goat origin) antibodies. The cells were stained subsequently with fluorescence-conjugated anti-goat or anti-rabbit secondary antibodies, followed by confocal microscopy.
