Sensitivity of HAstV-8 infection to treatments with different drugs. Caco-2 cells grown in 96-well plates were pretreated with the indicated concentrations of drugs for 1 h at 37°C. The cells were then infected with HastV-8 (black bars), or reovirus (white bars) (2,000 FFU per well), maintaining the drugs during the adsorption period of 1 h at 37°C. The virus inoculum was then removed, and the infection was left to proceed for 16 h at 37°C. Infected cells were fixed and stained as indicated in Materials and Methods. The data are expressed as the percentages of virus infectivity observed in control untreated cells, which were taken as 100%.
