Genetic interactions between ESS1 and cell-cycle genes. Serial dilutions (1:5, starting with cells at OD₆₀₀ 0.5) of wild-type or the indicated mutants were grown at 30°, 34°, or 37° on yeast extract peptone dextrose for 3 d. ess1^H164R swi4Δ double mutants show synthetic growth defects, whereas ess1^H164R whi5Δ and ess1^H164R mpb1Δ double mutants show synthetic growth rescue. Little or no effect was seen on growth of ess1^H164R whi3Δ double mutants (vs. ess1^H164R alone). ess1^H164R swi6Δ double mutants were synthetic lethal (Table 4).
