Delayed treatment with Mito-TEMPO blunted sepsis-induced decreases in renal mitochondrial complex respiration and restored MnSOD activity. Mito-TEMPO was administered (10 mg/kg ip) at 6 h post-CLP. At 18 and 36 h post-CLP, the activities of mitochondrial complex I, II/III, and IV (A), ATP levels in the kidney (B), and MnSOD activity (C) were measured. Values are expressed as percentage of sham levels (means ± SE, n = 4–8 mice/group).
